그리고 건내지는 책한권.. 이번에는 아프리카로 떠납니다.
잭은 사자를 너무 보고 싶어하는데.. 과연 볼 수 있을까요?
아프리카 초원애 도착하자마자.. 책을 꺼내든 잭..

씻기 위해 웅덩이로 가자 코끼리고 와서 애니 그리고 잭을 코끼리 코로 샤워를 시켜주네요.
그리고 나타나는 새..

새와 함께 숲으로 따라가는데요.

이번엔 애니가 맞았네요.

꿀잡이새가 안내한 벌집을 잭이 나뭇가지로 떨궈서 서로 맛보다가
수수께끼의 정답을 알게됩니다.
이제 다시 매트하로 되돌아 가야하는데
누군가 뒤에서 위엄있고 무섭게 조각상처럼 서있네요.
바로 마사이 족중 한명이였는데.. 마사이족은 꿀잡이 새를 이용해 벌집을 찾는다고 합니다.
결국 마사이 족은 밥벌이를 뺏긴것 같아 생각해서..
일단 잭의 가방에 있던 빵과 피넛버터를 꺼내서.. 꿀과 함께 발라서 빵을 만들어
나눠 먹으며 .. 마사이족을 미소짓게 만듭니다.
이제 매트하로 되돌아가면 되겠죠? ^^

잭이 한가지 아이디어를 내놓습니다.
즉 .. 발끝으로 살금살금 걷는(=tiptoe) ...
애니가 이걸 들으면서 놀리듯이 굿플랜이라고 하네요 ㅋㅋ
갑자기 하이에나까지 나타나서 더욱 성가시게 되었습니다.
그때 마침 매트하로 걸어가는 기린 한마리가 있었는데..
기린의 뒷찰차기가 강력해서 사자가 잘 접근 안한다는 것을 책에서 읽었던 잭이
기린에게 다가가자고 제안합니다.
그리고 결국.. 매트하 사다리를 잽사게 올라가게 되고
얼마나 급했는지.. 수수께끼 스크롤을 잽사게 풀고
"Iwishwecouldgothere!" 라고 말하네요 ^^
이렇게 급박하게 말하는 경우가 두번?쯤 있었는데 나머지 한번은 15권에 나오더군요 ㅋㅋ..
다시 되돌아온 잭과 애니..
하지만 점심식사로 사온 피넛 버터와 빵을 마사이 전사에게 건냈기 때문에
집에 빈손으로 가야네요. 그래서 엄마한테 뭐라고 할지 고민하게 됩니다.
그러면서 서로 아프리카 얘기를 하기로 결심하고
이번 장이 마무리 됩니다.
