이번 책은 1~2장이 꽤 기네요~

잭과 애니는 다시 매트하를 찾았습니다.
오늘은 어디로 여행을 떠날까요? 바로 이집트 피라미드 입니다.
잭은 무언가 사람이 있는듯 소리가 들은것 같지만..
이게 고양이였을까요??
피라미드에 도착하자마자 멀리... 장례식이 차루어지고 있습니다. 그리고 윤이나는 고양아 역시 매트하를 떠나 모래밭을 돌아다니고 있네요.
잭은 노트북에 이런 장례행렬에관해 정리하고 싶었으나 막무가내 애니께서 이미 떠나버리셨네요.
잭은 할 수없이 애니를 따라갑니다.
하지만 갑자기 신기루처럼 장례행렬은 사라지죠
그들은 과연 신기루를 본 걸까요??

당근 목적어가 없으면 목적격 관계대명사 겠지요 ^^

나는 만났다? 누구를? meet가 타동사 이기 때문에 목적어가 필요한데..

보어: (형용사)kind => very는 형용사 kind를 꾸며주는 부사입니다.
또한 목적격 관계 대명사에서 who/that/which는 생략할 수 있습니다.
소유격 관계대명사를 한번 보시죠.

여기 보시면 두가지 관계 대명사가 같이 들어가있습니다.

목적격 that => 집은 집인데 (우리가 방문한) 집!
집의.. 사람들(집이 사람들의 소유가 되죠)

전치사 about 다음에는 명사 혹은 명사 절이 나와야되는데. 동명사도 명사이기 때문에.. ing가 올 수 있습니다.
about v-ing => v-ing 하는것에 대하여란 뜻인데요..
티라노스사우르스한텐 잭이 먹힐 수도 있지만.. 먹힌다는 뜻.. 이게 수동의 의미기 때문에 be + p.p. 로 쓰여야 됩니다.
따라서 about be eaten인데.. be는 동사기 때문에 동명사로 바꾸어 being이 된 것입니다.
즉 이 문장은 피라미드에선 먹힐일이 없기 때문에 걱정하지 않아도 된다는 뜻입니다.

그리고 한가지 최상급 est에는 반드시 the를 붙여야 합니다.

간단히 설명해 보겠습니다~^^;
현재 완료는 과거어느시점~지금(말하는 순간)
과거완료는 과거보다 더 먼 과거.. 대과거라고 부릅니다. 대과거~과거까지..
책속의 잭은 과거에 피라미드 여행을 간거죠.
그보다 훨씬 이전부터 즉.. 잭이 태어났을때부터 이런 고양이는 처음봤던 거기 때문에 과거 완료가 됩니다.
잭이태어난시간(대과거)-잭이 고양이를 봤을때(과거)-독자가 책을 읽는 시점(현재)
만약 이 상황을 잭이 말하듯이 회화체로 (쌍 따옴표안에) 썼다면 과거완료가 아니라.. 현재완료가 되었겠네요.

잭과 애니는 고양이를 따라 피라미드 안으로 들어갑니다.
책에선 모두 딱딱한 돌로 되어있고 가장 깊숙한 곳에 무덤이 있다고 써있네요.
안에 들어가자마자 땅이 살짝 위로 기울어져있었습니다.
잭과 애니가 계속 따라(on and on) 올라가니 드디어 땅이 평평해졌습니다.
하지만 거기에선 퀴퀴하고(dusty) 오래된(stale) 냄새가 나네요.
갑자기 이상한 소리와 함께 하얀색 무언가 휙~ 하고 지나가면서 왕의 홀(scepter)를 떨궜네요.
애니가 보고 화득짝 놀라며, 미라(mummy)라고 외칩니다.
잭고 놀랐지만, 홀을 집어들고 이것은 왕의 상징이라고 애니한테 설명을 해줍니다.
책에선 무덤 도둑에 관해 설명을 읽은 잭은 잭은 방금 지나간 것은 진짜 사람이고, 그들은 도둑일지도 모른다고 하네요.
그러자 휙~~(whoosh) 소리와 함께 아름다운 공기로 구성된 이집트 여자로 보이는 무언가가 나타납니다.
이 여자는 누구일까요?

아.. 이번 장은 처음 읽었을때 4번째 그림(접힌 천)이 뭘 얘기하는지 전혀 몰랐는데.. 이번에 읽게되면서 수건얘기가 있어서 알게됐네요
하얀색 주름진 드레스를 입은 사람은 나일강의 여왕인 hutepi(후테피?) 였습니다.
후테피는 후생으로 가야하는데 오빠가 Book of the Dead를 피라미드 어디엔가 숨겨놔서
천년째 여기 머무르고 있다고 합니다. ㅠㅠ
그런데 오빠가 그 비밀을 상형문자로 벽에 새겨놨는데..
후테피여왕은 가까운 것은 볼 수가 없어서.. 오도가도 못하고 이리저리 맴돌고 있었네요
그래서 잭과 애니는 후테피 여왕에게 도움을 주기 시작합니다.
바로 4가지 문형
계단, 배 그리고 꽃병 마지막으로 접힌 천이였죠!
마지막으로 설명하는 접힌천은.. 잭은 다시봐도 제대로 이해할 수 없었죠.
그걸 옆으로 봤을때 수건걸이에 수건이 걸려있는 모양이였거든요.
그리고 후테피는 따라오라는 말을 남기고 둥둥뜨면서 무덤(burial chambers)으로 들어갑니다.

잭과 애니는 후테피 여왕을 따라 가서 4가지 상형문자에 있던 접은 천을 발견하게 됩니다.
접은 천 안에는 오래되보이는 두루마리가 하나 있었습니다. 두루마리를 펼쳐보자 상형문자들이 가득써있네요.
이게 바로 후테피 여왕이 말했던 Book of the Dead 입니다.
이걸 이제 여왕에게 전해줘야 하는데 이때 문하나가 열립니다.
잭과 애니는 그 방으로 향했고, 미라를 발견하게 됩니다.
애니는 미라가 역겨와 밖으로 나갔다가 그만 길을 잃어버리고 맙니다.
잭은 후테피 여왕에게 두루마리를 전해주고, 애니를 찾아나섭니다.
다시 왔던 방향으로 되돌아 가는 중에 애니의 목소리가 멀리서 어렴풋이 들립니다.
잭은 길을 따라 가지만 목소리는 점점 희미해져가고 그래서 다시 무덤으로 되돌아 옵니다.
결국 애니를 찾지만, 그 둘은 미로에 갇히게 되네요.
잭과 애니는 과연 탈출할 수 있을까요?

이제 떠냐아 할 시간이내요.
엄청 더운 사막의 모래를 지나 매직트리하우스가 있는 야자나무에 오르자마자
저 멀리 피라미드에서 배하나가 마치 신기루처럼 앞으로 나아가고 있습니다.
