현재 완료는 과거 한 시점 부터 ~ 지금까지를 의미합니다.
한 시점이 아닌 기간.. 즉 점이 아닌 선입니다.
하지만 단순과거형은 선이 아니라 점입니다.
예를 들어 봅시다.
I lost my wallet.(전에 잊어버렸는데 지금은 찾았는지 안찾았는지 모른다.)
I have lost my wallet.(전에 잃어버렸는데 아직 못 찾았다)
만약 과거형으로 쓰였다면, 뒷 문장은 우연치 않게 몇시간 만에 다시 찾아서 다행인지 몰라라고 내용이 이어질 수 있는 반면
현재완료로 쓰였다면, 그래서 지금 돈이 한푼도 없어서 아무것도 못해 라는 내용이 나오겠죠.
만약 과거에 잃어버렸었는데... 1년만에 찾았다면
음.. 2012년에 잃어버린 지갑을 2013년에 찾았는데..이 말을 2014년에 누구에게 얘기한다면??
과거 완료를 써야합니다.
과거 완료를 한번 살펴봅시다.
몇년전에 브라질 법이 계정되서 아마존 레인포레스트 벌목이 금지당했었다면..
이런 경우엔 과거완료 수동태로 써야합니다. 바로 had been p.p. 입니다.

벌목은... 한 점이 아닌... 기간으로 진행된 일이였으니까요

아마존에 도착한 잭과 애니.. 밖을 보니 땅처럼 보입니다.
애니는 슬그머니 창문으로 발을 내딛고 나가려하는 순간 잭이 책을 보고
이곳은 150피트 위일지도 모른다는 소리에 애니도 놀라 다시 매트하로 돌아옵니다.
사다리를 발견하고, 서서히 땅으로 내려가는 잭과 애니
갑자기 이상한 소리가 들려오는데요
알고보니 army ants의 소리입니다. 벌레를 피해 물가로 도망온 잭과 애니
물속으로 피하면 벌레가 못 쫓아오겠다는 생각에 급히..
카누처럼 생긴 통나무를 발견해서 올라타지만..
아차!! 노가 없었네요.
잭과 애니는 아마존 강에 노 없이 떠나니게 되었네요..

애니는 이쁜 물고기를 발견하지만 피라냐였네요.
잭은.. 포도덩쿨인지 알고 잡은건 뱀이였고..
나뭇가지인지 알았더니 악어였네요..
이런 일들이 반복되고, 원숭이가 나타나 과일을 던지기 시작합니다.
서너번 던지다가 애니가 상처받을말을 던지자
삐졌는지 숲속으로 사라집니다.
그리고 비는 다시 내리기 시작하고...
잭과 애니는 이러지도 저러지도 못하고 있네요
그리고 다시 나타난 원숭이..
이젠 잭과 애니를 도와주겠죠?

근처에 재규어 어미가 발끈하며 나타나자 원숭이가 시간을 끌어줍니다.
그 사이에 잭과 애니는 도망치게 되네요.
점점 어두워지고, 숲 사이로 헤매다가 이번에도 피넛이 잭과 애니를 도와줍니다.
무사히 매트하로 돌아온 잭과 애니.. 하지만 모건의 도움을 줄 수 있을까요?

잭과 애니가 찾고 있는 것을 찾기전까진 펜실베이나 책을 찾을 수 없다는 얘기를 닌자한테 들었던 내용도 기억해 냅니다.
그리고 원숭이는 사라지고.. 이제 집으로 떠나네요.
